Introducing Great Lakes Trivia

Welcome to the Greatest Trivia.  In the Greatest Region.  In the Greatest Lakes.  Welcome to Great Lakes Trivia!

Let’s get one thing straight – we are proud of what we’ve accomplished in three years at Motor City Trivia, Glass City Trivia and NEO Trivia.  Our new name isn’t about “starting over,” it’s about “moving forward.”  We constantly strive to be the premier entertainment option in each of our markets and today, that is no different.

With our name change to Great Lakes Trivia comes a bevy of changes and enhancements to our product – all of which are designed for you our players!  We’ve made these changes with the help our players and hosts.  We do listen to your feedback!  We hope you enjoy everything Great Lakes Trivia has to offer and we look forward to seeing you at a show real soon!  Here’s a snapshot of what’s going on:

This is our new regular game format.  We’ve heard your requests for “more trivia” in our games.  If you loved 8 Ball Trivia, you’ll love 10 Pin Trivia.  There are ten questions in the regular round and each question must be assigned a point value of one through ten, but each point value can only be used once per game.  Songs will be kept to 2.5 minutes, so our games will still only be one hour long and we’ll continue to do two games per night.

Because we like to keep things fresh and fun, we’ve added a couple new twists.

1)  The Pick Up Question – This is a question in the game where the answer is a number.  The top 50% of teams that get closest to the correct answer at a show earns points.  The one team who is closest to the correct answer, gets a couple extra.  This is a fun question!

2)  The Mystery Rounds – Quickfire Rounds,  Who What When Where Questions, Before & After, This or That, Theme Rounds – they are all here!  This follows the same process as the old Quickfire Round, but will have so much more variety.

3)  Our newsletter subscribers will find a question in their weekly newsletter.  If they provide the correct answer to that question at their show that night, they’ll earn bonus points.  You can sign up for our newsletter on the front page anytime.

League play is the bread and butter of Great Lakes Trivia.  We’ve made several enhancements to the way our leagues works.  Again, based on your feedback, we think you’ll enjoy these changes.  Click Here for info on our league and to register you team.

1)  League Seasons are now shorter.  They will be 12 weeks long.

2)  Nearly twice as many teams will win cash prizes as in previous leagues.  There are cash rewards every step of the way, culminating in an “All Star Tournament” to close out each league season, where the bulk of the cash will be won.

3)  Regionalized Leagues – We’re excited to introduce our new divisions to league play.  Each region is maxed out at fifteen venues, thus increasing your team’s odds of making tournaments and increasing your team’s odds of winning some moolah!

4)  Rewards for being the top team in a region.  Rewards for being the top team in market.  Rewards for being the top team in all of GLT!

The inaugural World Series of Bar Trivia is slated for this fall.  We’re talking 100 teams.  Theater type setting.  Minimum $5,000 prize pool.  Open to anyone and everyone!  It will be an event like no other…

The Trivia Player Passport is an incentive based program for our player base that encourages them to travel to venues.  It rewards them based on the number of venues they visit in a calendar year.   Teams will be credited electronically through the Great Lakes Trivia website.  For each venue a league team visits they will receive that venue’s logo stamped on their electronic passport crediting their participation at that venue.

Rewards include pint glasses, t-shirts, notepads, $100 venue gift cards, personalized team hoodies and more.  Click Here to read more about the Player Passport Program.

Music Lovers and Bingo Lovers will love our twist on this classic game.  Coming this March to a venue near you.  Click Here to read more about this new fan favorite.
